Persona Project

For my Persona project I wanted to show how Elisabet's silence causes vulnerability in Alma. I chose to show this through the removal of clothing, once you're naked there is no where to hide. In picture number one both Elisabet and Alma are fully dressed with Elisabet in front making the focus on her. Elisabet's clothing is closed off, turtle neck, long sleeves signifying her silence. In the second photo Alma moves slightly forward and her earrings are removed suggesting a glimpse of vulnerability. In the third photo more vulnerability is shown by Alma with removal of her sweater, this continues with the removal of her top and bra until she is naked. Elisabet's continual silence leads to Alma trying to fill up the emptiness thus revealing more of herself than she wants to. I chose to have my model cover her naked breasts to show this uncomfortableness with being so vulnerable. In this sequence focus starts on Elisabet but as it progresses Alma moves closer forward until they are at similar levels of focus. In the sixth photo I chose to extremely overexpose the faces of the models as it becomes unclear who is more vulnerable towards the end of the film and it becomes unclear if the two characters Elisabet and Alma are really two people or simply a single person.
